Parina, Izzy & Josh packed shoe boxes for ‘Operation Christmas Child’. Their actions help to bring joy, love and hope to children in need around the world. Taking part in this appeal every year has helped Class 9JDH to think about others and understand the importance of giving back.

 

 


 

 

A Year 8 English class explored the story of Leon Greenman, an anti-fascism campaigner and survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp, as part of a creative writing competition announced by UCL Centre for Holocaust Education.

As part of his PE GCSE, Orlando in Year 11 practised his gymnastics routine. His commitment to getting each sequence right is inspiring.

 


 

Last week, a generous amount of food was collected at City Academy for the Love Your Neighbour food bank. The support from students, families and staff was truly amazing.

JQA pride themselves on their relationships with the local community. Last week, Tesco – Spring Hill generously donated to Jewellery Quarter Academy’s food drive for The Real Junk Food Project as a part of their partnership with Echo Eternal.

 


Year 10 had the opportunity to enter the Young Writers national writing competition and produced some wonderful work to submit to the competition.

Students were very pleased to receive their personalised Rockwood Academy pens too.

 


 

Rockwood Academy hosted a wellbeing week for staff and students. The week was full of cross curricular, mental and physical challenges – ranging from science explosions to creative writing.
